June 30, 2017 - It's time again for our fourth quarterly App Day (aka Goblet of Fire)! Our first app day took place on November 18, 2016. Since then we have done two other official app days. It's been fun to watch all the different projects come out.
On App Day #1 we completed an app for the Chip Cookies delivery service. This app had full eCommerce, shipping notifications, tips, delivery maps, etc. It was fun to build such a business-changing app in one day. You can see what we completed in under nine hours here.
On App Day #2 we completed Dinr, a Tinder for dinner. Jong sold us on his idea that you never want to have to guess where to go to dinner with your spouse ever again. Dinr lets you swipe through restaurants and match on good places to eat. You can check out Dinr here.
On App Day #3 we voted on Shana's idea, an Alexa app for cooking. With Sous Chef you don't have to get your cookbook dirty while cooking, you can just talk to your Echo and it will get you all the ingredients and instructions through the speaker. See our prototype here.
Every app day we open our pitch session up to the public. Anyone can come pitch an idea and if the group votes for your idea, we'll build it! We hope you'll come and bring your friends along. If you don't want to pitch, but you want to participate in the product roadmap or as an engineer / designer we still want you there.
The one thing we can promise is a lot of food, fun, and code.
